Making it Public: Art in Public Places

If you missed Paula Castillo’s training on art in public places, you can watch it here!

Join renowned Belen sculptor and arts educator Paula Castillo in an exploration of the possibilities of public art. This two-hour training is designed for audiences from different backgrounds and professions who want to learn about public art and community placemaking.

The intensive workshop will give participants an overview of the different forms public art and funding can take and the range of processes and materials necessary to produce meaningful public art. We will cover temporary and permanent projects and various approaches, from social engagement to pop-ups.

Participants will engage in panel discussions, round-robin sessions, learning activities, and networking opportunities and leave prepared to imagine bringing purposeful public art into community spaces.
