Belen Schools Student Art Show “Nostalgia”

Kathleen Pickering, Belen Public Library Director, and art educator Paula Castillo are excited to announce the second year in a series of Belen Consolidated School student art exhibits hosted by the Belen Public Library.

The exhibits for School Year 2022-2023 will be curated by Citlaly Cano, Sophia Jaramillo, Natalie Morales, Aleah Dibble, Ronald Whatley, Jayden Howard, Louis Mixco, and Adrian Ramos of the Young Curators Club from Infinity High School.

The first exhibit, “Nostalgia,” will coincide with the Belen Rio Abajo Becker Street Festival sponsored by the Belen Chamber of Commerce, scheduled for September 24 from 10:00 am – 9:00 pm. “Nostalgia” will be available for viewing beginning with an opening day reception on September 24th from 10:00-5:00 in the Belen Public Library community room.

The exhibit will be up through October, and visitors are welcome to visit during library hours Monday – Saturday, 10 am – 5 pm. This show will feature reflections on memories of Rio Abajo made by student artists from Camellia Termini’s art classes at Belen Middle School and Paula Castillo’s art classes at Rio Grande Elementary.
