Possession Of Controlled Substance/Resisting an Officer
On 08/02/2023, officers arrested Mr. Austin Epps for trespassing at a vacant residence. Mr. Epps resisted arrest and was found to be in possession of Fentanyl. Mr. Epps was booked into the Valencia County Detention Center on charges of Possession of a Controlled Substance, Tampering with Evidence, Trespassing, and Resisting an Officer.
Felony Shoplifting
On 08/03/2023, officers responded to Walmart in reference to a shoplifting. Upon arrival, officer arrested Mr. Manuel Calderon for attempting to steal $1,917.59 worth of merchandise. Mr. Calderon was booked for Felony Shoplifting.
National Night Out
On Tuesday, 08/01/2023, the Belen Police Department and the Belen Fire Department celebrated our annual National Night Out event. We served 500 hamburgers and 400 hotdogs in one of our most successful events in our Police Department History. I would like to thank all those that came out and helped make this a special event.
