Jerah R. Cordova is the mayor of Belen, New Mexico. He was originally elected to the city council on March 2010, to serve a four-year term. He was first elected as mayor in March 2014 and again in March 2018.
Mayor Cordova also works full-time as the Director of Investigations at ADC LTD NM, an Albuquerque security and investigations firm. He is also an investigator working on behalf of the United States Department of Homeland Security, the United States Department of Defense, and the Social Security Administration.
Mayor Cordova graduated with a bachelor’s degree in journalism and political science from The George Washington University in Washington, DC, in 2006.
While in college, Mayor Cordova worked with former Congresswoman Heather Wilson — who is now Secretary of the Air Force, — gave history tours of the Capitol Building, and spent one semester digging around the United States National Archives for documents about World War II atomic bomb research in New Mexico.
As one of the youngest mayors in New Mexico, Mayor Cordova appreciates the opportunity to work for Belen, and through his dedication to Belen, he hopes to continue building a strong economy and better quality of life for the city where he was born and raised.
