Los Aguilas a RSVP volunteer band that plays for the Del Rio Senior Center dances held every Thursday from 10am until 12pm. They love playing their music and joking around with each other and everyone else. The Seniors are always asking for one more song. It’s nice to see them having so much fun. Now this is what keeps you young.

Mary Chavez, Bert West, Luis Pettis, Fillie Baca, and Dee Hull. Not present were Mildred Hammer and Shirley Atencio. These ladies make lap quilts for soldiers that are at war and in the hospitals. They have made quilts for over 4 and a half years, these quilts get delivered to 3 Army Medical Centers in Iraq.
These ladies received a certificate of appreciation for civilians honoring them from the Department of Military Affairs. The soldiers that honored them were telling their stories of their comrades who had been using the lap quilts. One young lady told her story of her friend that got his legs blown off. She went to visit him and he had a quilt he was showing her his quilt and told her how much he loved the quilt. The young lady then thanked them for helping her friend. The ladies were happy that the soldiers were telling their stories.
