Employment applications for positions at the City of Belen are available on line. These forms are available in Adobe format and can be download and printed to be completed by hand or filled out on line and printed. To apply for any of the open positions listed here, follow these instructions:

  1. Click the button on the left to open the Employment Application.
  2. Fill it out and save it to your computer.
  3. At the top of the first page of the application is a "Print" button. Upon completion, print the application and sign it.
  4. The application must be submitted in person or by mail.

Submit an application ONLY for open positions by the deadline shown with each opening. Applications for Police, Fire and Rescue follow a different process. Visit those respective sites for instructions on how to apply for positions there.

Positions available:

Clerical Specialist I (Entry Level Position)

LOCATION: CITY HALL –

Minimum Wage: $8.42

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

. US Citizen, 18 Yrs. Or older;
. High School Graduate or GED;
. Not convicted of Felony or Crime of Moral Turpitude;
. Resident NM Drivers License;
. Must have accurate computer skills;
. Must have numerical and alphabetical filing skills;
. Must be willing to submit to and pass a drug screen;
. One (1) year previous clerical/reception experience;
. One (1) year monetary collection and balancing experience;
. Ability to handle a multi-line telephone system, with excellent phone etiquette;
. Must have excellent customer service skills;
. Spanish speaking a plus but not required;

The City of Belen is accepting applications for:  WATER LABORER

Minimum Wage: $8.98 (negotiable if certified)

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

*US citizen, 18 Yrs or older;
*School Diploma or GED   
*Experience in water department work and equipment operation preferred but not required
*Must be able to read, write and follow directions
*Able to meet departmental physical standards and pass drug and alcohol test
*Ability to work and effectively communicate verbally or in writing with public, fellow employees and elected Officials;
*Valid New Mexico’s driver’s license required;
*Able to perform work functions with limited supervision
*Not convicted of Felony or Crime of Moral Turpitude (background investigation will be conducted).
*Must be able to work flexible schedule, which may include weekends, evenings, holidays and overtime;
*Other duties as assigned.
