Employment applications for positions at the City of Belen are available on line.

These forms are available in Adobe format and can be download and printed to be completed by hand or filled out on line and printed. To apply for any of the open positions listed here, follow these instructions:

  1. Click the button on the left to open the Employment Application.
  2. Fill it out and save it to your computer.
  3. At the top of the first page of the application is a "Print" button. Upon completion, print the application and sign it.
  4. The application MUST be submitted in person or by mail. FAXES WILL NOT BE ACCEPTED.

Submit an application ONLY for open positions by the deadline shown with each opening. Applications for Police, Fire and Rescue follow a different process. Visit those respective sites for instructions on how to apply for positions there.

City of Belen Fire Department

The City of Belen is accepting applications for:





  • Be at least 21 years of age and U.S. Citizen
  • Posses a valid New Mexico Driver’s License, Class E
  • High School Diploma or GED



  • New Mexico Emergency Medical Technician, Basic
  • IFSAC Fire Fighter I
  • AHA Healthcare Provider CPR


  • Be able to work 48/120 rotation that may include weekends and holidays
  • Operate in environments of high noise, poor visibility, limited mobility, at heights and in enclosed or confined spaces while responding to emergencies involving fire suppression and emergency medical services
  • Capable of writing accurate and proper fire and medical run reports; and performing requirements of the job at a safe level with or without reasonable accommodation
  • Operate in environments of high noise, poor visibility, limited mobility, at heights and in enclosed or confined spaces; must be able to sit, stand, walk, jog, run, sprint, climb, bend, lift, raise, kneel, crawl, squat, stretch, push, pull, twist, hold, grip, carry, drag, throw, catch, lean, maintain balance, and other miscellaneous physical agilities; able to work for long periods of time, requiring sustained physical activity and intense concentration
  • Able to wear personal protective equipment and breathing apparatus that weights approximately 50 pounds while performing various strenuous firefighting and rescue related tasks; dexterity and ability to use a wide variety of fire suppression and special protective gear under stressful emergency conditions
