In the fall of 2009 a ribbon cutting ceremony for the first ever carbon neutral commercial application of Infinia Corporation's PowerDish™ technology took place in the parking lot at Belen City Hall. Three solar dishes, each generating as much as 3kW of power, was inaugurated in front of a crowd of second graders from a local elementary school and state and local dignitaries'. |

The installation was funded in part through a "Clean Energy" grant as part of Governor Richardson's Clean Energy Innovation Fund from the State Energy Minerals and Natural Resources Department.our kids and their kids" said then Mayor Ronnie Torres. "Governor Richardson's mandate for New Mexico to become carbon neutral has inspired us. The city has shared, since then, the passion to lead by example through pursuing funding for renewable energy and initiating green sustainable practices in all that we do."
Today the three Stirling Engines run Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM, weather providing. The dishes run manually, but they are expected to run automatically soon. Watch PowerDish™ technology live daily as they track the sun from sun rise to sun set.
